This new drug research company developed a revolutionary drug for late stage prostate cancer known as abiraterone acetate. Recently, Cougar Biotechnology was sold to Johnson & Johnson for around $1 billion dollars.
Dr. Rosenwald earned his degree in finance and economy from Pennsylvania State University graduating Beta Gamma Sigma in 1977. At Temple University School of Medicine, he received a medical degree graduating in 1983. Dr. Rosenwald received an internship at Abington Medical Hospital, and later worked in private practice until 1986.
In 1988 Dr. Lindsay A. Rosenwald took the position of managing director in corporate finance for D. H. Blair & Company, an investment company. He led a team of three physician-financiers who combed the medical community in search of the latest medical developments that might be marketed with the help of private investors. Dr. Rosenwald and his team dealt with hospitals, research groups, pharmaceutical companies, medical schools, scientific firms, and universities in search of promising medical breakthroughs.
In 2009, Lindsay A. Rosenwald along with Michael S. Weiss formed a new company which is called OpusPoint Partners. The company specializes in healthcare and life sciences investments and consulting and seeks investment opportunities in cutting edge medical technology.
