Sh' or Yoshuv Institute

Any time you think of prominent Jewish Education the initial name that most likely comes up is Sh’ or Yoshuv Institute. This Institute also hosts a community center that hosts a congregation from the largest Jewish communities in all of America. With such a massive congregation the institute is able to provide many valuable Jewish outreach programs that are customized to the needs of the Jewish community.

Empathy is a trait of the Sh’or Yoshuv, as well as the top characteristic of those that are attracted to support the Institutes’s timeless vision to transmit a Jewish education and learning. Such sensitivity, and global interest in charitable causes, are trademarks of Dr. and Mrs. Lindsay Rosenwald, dear friends of our institute and role models for our community. As the leaders of a family focused on charity — as a couple whose vigor to assist those people in need is matched by their magnanimous heart and soul– the Rosenwalds are philanthropists of exclusive discretion and strength.

One particular of the countless impressive traits of the Rosenwalds may be observed in their parenting. Pursuing charitable causes in not something they do on the telephone, something separate from their home life. Their charitable pursuits are their home life; they include the kids in most activities assisting altruistic causes. Activities to generate knowledge many different childrens causes and fund raisers are held in their residence, always, to allow their kids to learn by example and one day follow inside their dad’s or mom’s actions. The future of humanity is really a regular dilemma for the Rosenwald family members. These people have a real love for the betterment of community, especially education. It is extremely uncommon for an group to get such powerful followers who contribute though out the globe and have close individual relationships with people who require help.

Stories abound about Dr. Lindsay Rosenwalds kind heart. An associate of the Doctors, who is an artist, was the recipient of Dr. Rosenwald’s generosity. Dr. Rosenwald purchased his friend’s works, which now decorate the lobby of the Institutes principal building. The pictures were and are stunning , however they were ordered with the sole intent being monetarily helping the painter. Yet an additional story consists of the Rosenwald’s being honored at a previous Sh’or Yoshuv Annual Banquet. The doctor agreed to take the accolade, but explained to Sh’or Yoshuv, “I don’t much like the limelight, but you know I am going to do what must be done to be of assistance.”

Probably the most poignant account to talk about involves the Institute within a crucial budget emergency. A conference was called to resolve key deficits, and took place in Dr. Rosenwald’s residence. After remaining silent during the entire conference, Dr. Rosenwald approached the Rabbi, and privately whispered that he would take care of your entire deficit. He had been hypersensitive to everyone in the room, and required no accolades for the kind offer he had in mind all along.

The Institute is happy that the magnificent atrium of the campus is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Rosenwald’s father, Mr. David R. Rosenwald,Esq. The Rosenwalds are cherished individual associates of Sh’or Yoshuv Institute, and join Sh’or Yoshuv for the High Holy Days, while also participating in many other specific events held at the Institute. Without their committed assistance of this foundation, Jewish education would not be nearly as accessible these days. Their continuing support is a source of motivation to the total administration, and a important link to Sh’or Yoshuv Institutes’s future success.
